3 New Keakie Shows To Start Your Week (1/04/22)

A trip to Latin America, relentless Techno and global Jazz flavours.

VAX, host of Domain X

Creativity is at the heart of what we love here at Keakie, whether it be a sonic flip of a classic track or the rush of adrenaline from discovering a new song that will stay with you forever. Luckily, we have got you covered for every mood and atmosphere.

Across a wide ranging spectrum of sounds, including Techno, Jazz, Afrobeat, Acid Hosue, Latin and beyond, we have cultivated some highlights from our catalogue to get you ready for the weekend, whether you’re having some down time or turning up.

Check out our selections below.

Poly-Rythmo Club

A party and mix series based in Barcelona, Spain, Poly-Rythmo Club takes listeners back to a simpler time of rare Latin vibrations, releasing a warm and vibrant selection that can brighten any mood and have you breaking out the Carimbo, a popular Latin dance that persists to this day. A perfect soundtrack for some serious down time in the sun or at the beach.

Domain X

Straight from Honolulu, Hawaii, Domain X is a space to lose yourself and to be taken by the relentless beat of the drum. A Techno-heavy offering, the show, according to its host, DJ ZAX, “highlights some of my unreleased tracks, weekly obsessions and long-time personal favourites.” Spinning tracks by the likes of Cosmic Boys, UMEK, Ayumi Hamasaki and B.Traits, Domain X is not one to be missed.

The Outer Edges of Jazz & Latin

Ex-Friendly, a Nottingham-based DJ and selector, presents Jazz and Latin as rebel music in The Outer Edges of Jazz & Latin. Exploring the rhythms and sounds of the barrios, he spins flavours touching on conflict, revolution and freedom. There are tracks by Frank Foster, Charlie Haden, The Lyman Woodard Organization and more as Outer Edges gives a platform to music with a message.
