3 New Keakie Shows To Start Your Week (18/04/22)

Lebanese Jazz-Funk, twinkling House and late night R&B.

Creativity is at the heart of what we love here at Keakie, whether it be a sonic flip of a classic track or the rush of adrenaline from discovering a new song that will stay with you forever. Luckily, we have got you covered for every mood and atmosphere.

Across a wide ranging spectrum of sounds, including Jazz, Funk, House, R&B and beyond, we have cultivated some highlights from our catalogue to get you ready for the week, whether you’re having some down time or turning up.

Check out our selections below.

Habibi Funk

Based in Berlin, Habibi Funk is one of the most forward-thinking records label around, with the sole purpose of shining a light on the eclectic sounds of the Arab world. With a focus on re-releasing often forgotten and unheard gems from the pop and Funk eras of the 1960s-1980s, the label has transcended its focus to become a leading entity for music outside of the Western realm. On its new Keakie show, Habibi Funk showcases funky-gnawa sounds, Disco and Reggae from Libya, Lebanese Jazz-Funk and more unexpected pearls from their unique collection.

Mirror Tales

Mirror Tales is an exploration of all things House from the creative mind of Barcelona-based DJ and musician Tête de la Course (TDLC), who has spun for the likes of Traxsource and Jackies Music House Sessions and who’s music Defected Records has referred to as having ‘ irresistible rolling basslines, twinkling melodies and slick percussion.’ His show is a fitting extension of his music making chops.

Poetik Selections

Philadelphia’s Poetik Selections crafts mixes for the night drives, the pre-game, the wine down, the brunch, and the self care. Providing listeners with soulful and stimulating audible experiences, her mixes will take you through various R&B styles, blends, and deep cuts, blending Roddy Ricch with Alex Isley and Lucky Daye with Robert Glasper.
